Fashion Show Photo Booth: Left Standing at DDP for Days
The short answer
At a fashion show or an exhibition, the booth went on a stand and only needed power. At the O.F.F. 30th fashion show at DDP on August 8, the frame carried the event name, and the booth stayed in the hall after the show. The photos show it there from the 8th to the 11th, four days, with no one staffing it.

What is it like to put a photo booth in a fashion show exhibition hall?
On August 8 we had a booth at the O.F.F. 30th fashion show, INTER-VIEW, at DDP in Seoul. O.F.F. is a national federation of university fashion students that has run since 1996. Model photo panels hung in the hall next to the stage, and we put the booth on a stand among them.
A fashion show splits into watching the runway and walking the exhibition. A booth along the path people take between the two gets visits before and after the show.
This post is a record of how the booth was placed and how it ran that day. Other events are in our case collection.
A fashion show hall is a place where the people passing through keep changing while the show runs. One booth sat in that flow, and visitors walking the exhibition before and after the show stopped to shoot. It was a spot we could join without touching how the rest of the event ran.
The booth is a white box with the iPad inside. The screen showed the INTER-VIEW event logo next to our logo, so even people walking past could tell it belonged to this event.
What was the promise about the logo on the stage screen?
Before the show started, the organizers showed our logo next to the O.F.F. logo on the stage screen. It was an item written in our sponsorship proposal, and they delivered it as written.
Sponsoring an event booth does not stop at putting the booth down. What the proposal says about exposure and what happens on the day is what lets both sides trust each other. Here the screen logo was that promise, and it came up before the show, as agreed.
The screen logo is a single moment before the show. Because that one moment sits next to the first impression of the whole show, it was an item in the proposal. If you are weighing an event sponsorship, think of this as a case where you can see how a proposal sentence was actually delivered on the day.

How did we set it up?
We put the booth on a stand and plugged it in. No tripod, no light. The iPad is inside the booth, and when a shoot ends the photos reach each guest's phone by QR code.
In the hall we had the booth on a stand and also on the floor. Either way it needed one power cable.
What setup took was picking a spot for the booth and checking that power reached it. In a hall with many people walking around, you only need to check where the cable runs. Beyond that, putting it down and plugging it in was the whole job.

Did we need staff to manage a line?
No. Once one person started shooting, the next people waited behind and stepped in one after another.
We did not explain it. People read the screen and figured it out, including foreign visitors. Nobody had to stand next to the booth.
On show day people are needed for the show itself, so it is hard to assign someone to the booth. Being usable from the screen alone took that pressure off.
We did not make a line, but there were people waiting. While the person in front shot, others waited behind and stepped in when it was their turn. At an event where crowds gather, having people form the order on their own makes things much easier on the organizers.
What text did we put on the frame?
We made the frame in the app with "30TH O.F.F INTER-VIEW FASHION SHOW" under the four photos. Every strip taken with it carries the name of that day's event.
What a guest keeps is the event name more than our logo. That is why the event name sits at the bottom of the frame.
You can make frames with the custom frame feature. The text goes in right in the app, so it still works if the final event name arrives late.
The frame text is the show name in capital letters, so even when you look at the photo much later you know which show it came from.

What does it mean that the booth stayed after the show?
After the show on the 8th, the booth stayed in the exhibition hall. The photos confirm it from the 8th to the 11th, which is four days.
There was one booth, and nobody was staffing it. That only works because the booth runs unattended.
That helps at events where the show is one day and the exhibition runs longer, like a fashion show. The booth can stay up for the exhibition regardless of who is on shift on show day.
On show day the event needs many hands, and from the next day staffing usually drops. That the booth kept running through that time also meant the organizers did not have to give it separate attention.
What should you check before putting a booth in an exhibition or fashion show?
This list comes from what we watched at this event.
- Check that the stand or table is around eye level and that power reaches it.
- Get the event name and frame text ahead of time.
- If it is a sponsorship, confirm the exposure items in your proposal, such as a screen logo, with the organizer again.
- If the exhibition continues, decide how the booth is left overnight, and whether to use the admin password lock so iPad settings stay put.
- Rental terms are on the rental page. Preparation items are in the event checklist.
