San Francisco Pub Photo Booth: One Spot on the Bar

The short answer

A pub photo booth is one box on one spot of the bar counter. At THE KØRNER STORE in San Francisco, we gave up no guest seats and ran it on a charger for the whole evening. Photos went to phones by QR, so nobody carried paper around.

One box on the bar counter

This is THE KØRNER STORE, a bar in San Francisco. The idle screen and the frame were both set up for DOKKAEBIER.

No booth on the floor, just one box on the bar counter. It is light, so we carried it from table to table. Guests do not come to the booth; the booth goes to them.

3 hours 18 minutes straight

The first four-cut was taken at 5:57 pm, the last at 9:15 pm. It ran for 3 hours 18 minutes without a restart.

Photos go straight to phones by QR. Not having to hand out prints turned out to be the easy way in a bar.

A frame just for that bar

DOKKAEBIER logo, a THE KØRNER STORE badge, a Korean flag, and a beer can, all put together inside the app.

It is not only for events. One slot on the bar and it runs all through opening hours.

Can it go in without taking guest seats?

At THE KØRNER STORE we used no floor space. The booth is one box, so it sat on one spot of the bar counter and no seat was removed.

It runs all night on a charger. The first four-cut was at 5:57 PM and the last at 9:15 PM, with no restart in between.

When we wanted to move it, we carried it to the table. It is one box, so one person can do it.

Where does the venue's own frame go?

We made the frame inside the app and put it in the Collaboration tab. Guests pick it there and shoot. We did not outsource it.

That night's frame had three things: the DOKKAEBIER wordmark, a THE KØRNER STORE badge, and props: a Korean flag, stars, and a beer can.

All you need is the venue name and the frame gets made that day. The custom frame page shows how.

How do guests get photos in a bar?

A QR code shows on the screen, guests scan it with their phone, and the photo transfers on the spot.

Carrying a paper print around while drinking is awkward, so this was easier.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a bar or pub run a photo booth?
Yes. The mini booth needs one slot on the bar counter and is light enough to move from table to table.
Can we run it without printing?
Yes. Photos save to each phone by QR after shooting, so there is nothing to hand out. In a busy bar that is the easier way.
Can the idle screen and frame match our brand?
Yes. Build the frame with your logo and badges in the app, and set the idle screen to match the venue.
Can the booth stay on for the whole opening time?
Yes, with a charger plugged in. In San Francisco it ran for 3 hours 18 minutes, from 5:57 PM to 9:15 PM, with no restart.
When do we make a frame for our venue?
You can make it inside the app on the day. Put it in the Collaboration tab and guests pick it and shoot.
