Our story

At the end of an alley sits a tiny bakery and photo studio with a four-pane window. A cat lives there. Her name is Bbangnyang.

Bbangnyang lives on the 4-cut photos people take. When she eats a sweet memory and settles into loaf pose, the oven warms up and a loaf gets baked. The first one was Sikppang. In Korean, a cat tucking in her paws and sitting round is called ‘baking a loaf’ (sikppang).

A cat that ate a smiling picnic by the Han River naps on a picnic mat. One that ate a late-night alley photo pulls up a hood.

Your Bbangnyang grows to look like the way you lived.

The Bbangnyang family

Every baby Bbangnyang born in the bakery goes home with one person. Depending on the photos you take, yours grows into a riverside, café, or midnight-alley Bbangnyang, each part of one big family.

Character usage

Please follow these when introducing or featuring Bbangnyang and Sikppang.

  • Scale only, keeping the original proportions
  • Place on white or light gray backgrounds
  • Write dialogue that fits each character's personality
